\(L\)-Modules.Simin Saidi Goraghani & Rajab Ali Borzooei - 2024 - Bulletin of the Section of Logic 53 (1):125-144.
In this paper, considering \(L\)-algebras, which include a significant number of other algebraic structures, we present a definition of modules on \(L\)-algebras (\(L\)-modules). Then we provide some examples and obtain some results on \(L\)-modules. Also, we present definitions of prime ideals of \(L\)-algebras and \(L\)-submodules (prime \(L\)-submodules) of \(L\)-modules, and investigate the relationship between them. Finally, by proving a number of theorems, we provide some conditions for having prime \(L\)-submodules.

Module Structure on Effect Algebras.Simin Saidi Goraghani & Rajab Ali Borzooei - 2020 - Bulletin of the Section of Logic 49 (3):269-290.
In this paper, by considering the notions of effect algebra and product effect algebra, we define the concept of effect module. Then we investigate some properties of effect modules, and we present some examples on them. Finally, we introduce some topologies on effect modules.

    On Injective MV-Modules.Rajabali A. Borzooei & S. Saidi Goraghani - 2018 - Bulletin of the Section of Logic 47 (4):283-298.
In this paper, by considering the notion of MV-module, which is the structure that naturally correspond to lu-modules over lu-rings, we study injective MV-modules and we investigate some conditions for constructing injective MV-modules. Then we define the notions of essential A-homomorphisms and essential extension of A-homomorphisms, where A is a product MV-algebra, and we get some of there properties. Finally, we prove that a maximal essential extension of any A-ideal of an injective MV-module is an injective A-module, too.

Midwives’ experience of respectful maternity care (RMC) globally: A meta-synthesis.Simin Haghdoost, Mina Iravani, Ali Hassan Rahmani & Simin Montazeri - forthcoming - Nursing Ethics.
Background Respectful maternity care (RMC) emphasizes the social and relational elements of maternity care and is a crucial part of initiatives to improve service accessibility and quality. Women's perceptions have influenced much of what we know about RMC and contempt in the labor ward. In order to understand midwives' perspectives of RMC, this meta-synthesis focused on them. Method For this inquiry, the databases PubMed/Medline, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus were searched to find studies on midwives' perceptions of RMC written (...)

Smiling reflects different emotions in men and women.Simine Vazire, Laura P. Naumann, Peter J. Rentfrow & Samuel D. Gosling - 2009 - Behavioral and Brain Sciences 32 (5):403-405.
We present evidence that smiling is positively associated with positive affect in women and negatively associated with negative affect in men. In line with Vigil's model, we propose that, in women, smiling signals warmth (trustworthiness cues), which attracts fewer and more intimate relationships, whereas in men, smiling signals confidence and lack of self-doubt (capacity cues), which attracts numerous, less-intimate relationships.

Technostress Creators and Job Performance Among Frontliners: Theorizing the Moderating Role of Self-Efficacy.Jeannette Saidy, Zanete Garanti & Richard Sadaka - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
Technostress is evolving as an imperative area of academic research amid the “new normal” settings of working remotely. Research has investigated the relationships between technostress and job outcomes and proposed individual- and organizational-level approaches to manage it. However, insights into the influence of dynamic personality differences on this relationship are limited. This study ties the concept of self-efficacy to the transactional model of stress and coping, and investigates to what extent computer and social self-efficacy moderate the relationships between technostress creators (...)

    Divine Command Theory and Theistic Activism.Simin Rahimi - 2012 - Heythrop Journal 53 (4):551-559.
If the divine will is not subject to any principle, and God controls all truths including moral truths, morality will be arbitrary at the deepest level. It will not be possible to offer any explanation of why God has willed certain actions rather than their contraries. Throughout the history of philosophical debate there have been many attempts to support the dependence of moral truths on God's command (or divine command theory) and at the same time to avoid this charge of (...)

  20. Divine Command and Ethical Duty: A Critique of the Scriptural Argument.Simin Rahimi - 2008 - Journal of Islamic Philosophy 4:77-108.
What is the relationship between divine commands and ethical duties? According to the divine command theory of ethics, moral actions are obligatory simply because God commands people to do them. This position raises a serious question about the nature of ethics, since it suggests that there is no reason, ethical or non-ethical, behind divine commands; hence both his commands and morality become arbitrary. This paper investigates the scriptural defense of the divine command theory and argues that this methodology is wrong (...)

Divine Command Theory in the Passage of History.Simin Rahimi - 2009 - Forum Philosophicum: International Journal for Philosophy 14 (2):307-328.
Are actions that are morally good, morally goosd because God makes them so? Or does God urge humans to do them because they are morally good anyway? What is, in general, the relationship between divine commands and ethical duties? It is not an uncommon belief among theists that morality depends entirely on the will or commands of God: all moral facts consist exclusively in facts about his will or commands. Thus, not only is an action right because it is commanded (...)

Swinburne on the Euthyphro Dilemma. Can Supervenience Save Him?Simin Rahimi - 2008 - Forum Philosophicum: International Journal for Philosophy 13 (1):17-29.
Modern philosophers normally either reject the „divine command theory” of ethics and argue that moral duties are independent of any commands, or make it dependent on God's commands but like Robert Adams modify their theory and identify moral duties in terms of the commands of a loving God. Adams regards this theory as metaphysically necessary. That is, if it is true, it is true in all possible worlds. But Swinburne's position is unprecedented insofar as he regards moral truths as analytically (...)

    Permaculture: A Global Community of Practice.Benjamin Habib & Simin Fadaee - 2022 - Environmental Values 31 (4):441-462.
Permaculture design seeks to create sustainable communities, and over time has established itself as a transnational community of practice. Based on original interviews with permaculture practitioners from around the world, and drawing on the three core elements of communities of practice - shared domain, communality and shared practices - as our analytical framework, this paper makes three arguments. First, the shared domain of permaculture as a body of knowledge, a system of ethics and set of practical design principles creates an (...)

Influential Nodes in the OBOR Fossil Energy Trade Network Based on D-S Theory: Detection and Evolution Analysis.Cuixia Gao, Simin Tao, Kehu Li & Yuyang He - 2022 - Complexity 2022:1-16.
The structure formed by fossil energy trade among countries can be divided into multiple subcommodity networks. However, the difference of coupling mode and transmission mechanism between layers of the multirelationship network will affect the measurement of node importance. In this paper, a framework of multisource information fusion by considering data uncertainty and the classical network centrality measures is build. Then, the evidential centrality indicator is proposed, by integrating Dempster–Shafer evidence theory and network theory, to empirically identify influential nodes of fossil (...)

In the last 20 years the institution of the museum has gone through a period of redefining its role and its functions in society, its forms of representation, its authority in discourses on the past and its objects. The stated aim of many of the ‘memory museums’ which were established during this period is to invite reflection on the aestheticization of memory and on the fact that the exhibition is seen as a narrative which is challenging conventional codes of perception. Introduction: Memory, Community and the New Museum.Jens Andermann & Silke Arnold-de Simine - 2012 - Theory, Culture and Society 29 (1):3-13.
Over the last decades, in response to feminist, postmodern and postcolonial critiques of the modern museum, objects, collections and processes of museaIization have been radically re-signified and re-posited in the cultural arena. The new museums emerging from this shift have redefined their functions in and for communities not simply by changing their narratives but by renegotiating the processes of narration and the museal codes of communication with the public. They define themselves now not as disciplinary spaces of academic history but (...)

Recently, megastable systems have grabbed many researchers’ interests in the area of nonlinear dynamics and chaotic systems. In this paper, the oscillatory terms’ coefficients of the simplest megastable oscillator are forced to blink in time. The forced system can generate an infinitive number of hidden attractors without changing parameters. The behavior of these hidden attractors can be chaotic, tori, and limit cycle. The attractors’ topology of the system seems unique and looks like picture frames. Besides, the existence of different coexisting (...)

This paper explores the epistemological affordances of Islamic ethics as alternative knowledge within intercultural education. Despite the calls for epistemological plurality in intercultural education that centre epistemologies of the South, educators may find it hard to reaffirm their situated knowledges and practices because they may have been overwhelmed by the wide endorsements of the mainstream literature. Drawing on in-depth interviews with 25 EFL teachers, this study aims to (a) unpack educators’ perspectives around the adoption of alternative knowledges anchored in local (...)

The crisis from above: Gatekeepers need better standards.Sarah R. Schiavone, Julia G. Bottesini & Simine Vazire - 2022 - Behavioral and Brain Sciences 45.
Improvements to the validity of psychological science depend upon more than the actions of individual researchers. Editors, journals, and publishers wield considerable power in shaping the incentives that have ushered in the generalizability crisis. These gatekeepers must raise their standards to ensure authors' claims are supported by evidence. Unless gatekeepers change, changes made by individual scientists will not be sustainable.
